Chapter 3, 9, 10 Reflection by Diego Nunez

First of all, I would like to say that I am really proud of this class because of the work we all have done, this year has not been the best and the situation where we at right is not the greatest either. For most of us, it was hard to adapt to an online learning experience since we all were used to go to classroom a learn face to face. However, I think this will benefit us because we will learn new skills we did not have before, like self-studying and focusing at home which it is really hard.

The professor divided the class in three different groups which would be the groups for the whole term. Each group had to present about a different topic, group one talked about cultures, group two talked about communicating in groups, and group three talked about group leadership and problem solving. All of the groups had to make a Power Point following guidelines stablished by the professor. After listening to all the presentations, I will give my opinion about each group, including mine, and compare the pros and cons of them.

I will start with my group, group one. The topic assigned to us, like I said before was culture. First, we created a group chat where we organized everything and see what each of us would do. We divided the topics and then each of us did our own slides to later put everything together on the Power Point project. Overall, our group was very organized and did great, we used a lot picture to make the slides easy to understand and associate with everything we were explaining. One thing that I would say that was not a good idea was the YouTube videos which kind of slowed down everything, however, it was our first time using Collaborate Class program to make a presentation, so it is understandable. We had to try it to see if it worked because the videos contained some good information.

Group two presented about communicating in groups, a very good topic for this class. Their presentation was really good, all of them talked smoothly and they left everything clear. The Power Point slides were great, they matched the style of all the slides so it would look everything would look the same. They utilized a lot of pictures making the slides simple a easy to understand, usually the slides that have a lot of words are not the greatest because people focus too much on them and they do not listen to the one talking. It seems like they were really careful and organized in the process.

Last but not least is group three which presented about leadership and problem solving, a great skill for this type of work. Their presentation was good too, they left everything clear and it was easy to understand. The Power Point slides were good too, but I would have liked a more images. Some of the slides had too much text and looked kind of messy, but like I said before, it is our first doing all this, and it is understandable to have this kind of mistakes. It seems like they did exactly what our group did, each person does their slide and then put everything together.

Overall, I think the class did very well, all the topics were easy to comprehend and the Power Points simple and solid. The groups had some mistakes when they presented, but again, it was our first working together, presenting something using a program that we do not know to a hundred percent yet. I think that little by little we all will improve and even though were not giving a public speech, we will have the skills to do so after the we finish the class.
