Presentation Reflection
When it came to do the presentation of doing disability it was interesting. I always thought disabilities being a very touchy subject to talk about. My grandfather had multiple sclerosis, so I had someone in my family who had a disability. With doing this presentation it is good to see how people are spreading awareness of disabilities. The presentations spread awareness of disability and shows the community how they can help. We chose the these themes for our presentation so that we show how society treats and how they show acceptance of people with disabilities.
The presentation for my team came out excellent. Our subject on our PowerPoint was spinal cord disability. Spinal cord disability is a very serious and can be a very serious if someone ever gets injured on their spine it can be very serious even making them paralyzed if injured severely or even left in a vegetative state or being brain damaged. After this that person has to be taken care of by either loved ones or by medical care workers. In our presentation we wanted to go over what it is like for someone for someone who has a spinal cord disability.
With the our PowerPoint it was difficult do to with my part because of how my chapter did not go with the topic of spinal cord disability. The way it is that when it comes to having a spinal cord disability it is super difficult for a person to talk or communicate with others if they have been injured. Spinal cord injuries have a lot to deal with the brain and chest area so if someone who is injured in a car accident can make a person develop problems with speech.
My grandfather after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis went from being witnessed from my mother and uncle is that he had problems starting to talk. He would have problems were it became hard for him to talk due the injury. After he would be tired after saying just a couple of words and he would breathe heavily. A lot of other people who I have heard from who have spinal cord injuries or know someone who has spinal cord injuries all had problems breathing.
Hopefully we will be able to all come together in our community and help others who have a spinal cord injury because their life is harder than ours and it is good to help those who are in need of us.
I certainly agree that we should help when and where we can.
